The ideal masculine body has and continues to be advertised as being in control, focused, strong, relaxed and showing little emotion. From Greek sculptures to digital images in high fashion, the ideal image of the male body is turned into a ‘statue’, a statue to be watched, to be stared at and to be desired by everyone. In response to this, the three podiums begin to question this ideal by highlighting the difficulty of posing like statues. They begin to challenge the notion of being strong and in control by causing strain on the physical body of a man.
